Trader Joe's Diaries

Captain's log, September 4, 2012. As any sea captain like myself can attest, there is bridge between summer and fall, and during this period, while the temperature may be as warm as a hot July day, there is a quality to the air that is different, and the waters themselves change.  As surely as the days are growing darker, it is the beginning of the end.

If there is one thing to brighten one's mood in the face of such a swift destruction of meaning, it is Trader Joe's, the one place where the forces of nature hold no dominion over the affairs of man.

Among its many charms, Trader Joe's has a multitude of treats.  This evening, while a storm brewed in my soul, I purchased some S'mashing S'mores, which I had some reservations about, considering I am not a huge marshmallow fan.  Friends, I must say, my doubts were completely unfounded, for these little blocks of joy are pleasantly fluffy with a complex, crunchy graham cracker base and a coating of velvety milk chocolate.

The Nor'easter within myself dissipated and all was clear.
