British Words and Turns of Phrase

I, like many people, enjoy the way British people speak. One thing I particularly enjoy is when they say 'lest,' as in "lest you forget." (As a side note, Charlie, on the show Lost, often uses 'lest.') Here are some quotes that use the word 'lest.'

1) "I must lose myself in action, lest I wither in despair." -Alfred Tennyson

2) "For every age is fed on illusions, lest men should renounce life early, and the human race come to an end." -Joseph Conrad

3) "You should eat lots of ice cream, lest your life suck."
-Winston Churchill
