Radiology is Good

Interesting article from Forbes about the growing issue of imaging tests and their cost. According to the article, Pittsburgh, my hometown, has more MRI machines than Canada. I have never felt so proud to be from Pittsburgh.

A dream of mine is to have my very own MRI machine and consulting radiologist. MRIs are wonderful because they do not use radiation to take images and therefore avoid the possible risks of CAT scans and X-Rays (although, as the article relays, the American College of Radiology claims there is no proof that these tests are harmful). Also, MRIs provide extremely high-detailed images of the soft tissues and bone. Great for detecting all sorts of cancers and other potentially life-threatening problems.

Anyway, yes, someday I will have weekly scans (daily or hourly if the situation warrants).
